If MyScreenSize shows a laptop or wrong phone model on mobile, desktop site mode is a common cause. Browsers report a wide viewport and desktop user-agent strings, which breaks screen detection.
What is desktop site mode?
Mobile browsers can request the desktop version of a website. Safari calls it "Request Desktop Website"; Chrome on Android uses "Desktop site" in the menu. The page layout widens and JavaScript sees a desktop-like screen width.
How to turn it off
iPhone (Safari)
- Tap aA in the address bar.
- Uncheck Request Desktop Website.
- Reload MyScreenSize.com.
Android (Chrome)
- Open the ⋮ menu.
- Turn off Desktop site.
- Reload the page.
